| The Candela GentleLASE is a high-energy, long-pulse laser that can safely and effectively treats all skin types and a variety on conditions.
How does the GentleLASE laser treatment work?
The laser creates a beam of high-intensity light that penetrates deep into the skin tissue where it delivers a controlled amount of therapeutic heat. The Candela’s patented Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) technology protects the upper layers of your skin with a cooling burst of cryogen. Together, the long-pulse laser and DCD cooling offer optimal treatment with minimal side effects.
What are the indications?
- Permanent Hair Removal
- Pigmented Lesions (freckles, age spots, melasma)
- Leg Veins
- Hemangiomas
- Blue Facial Veins
- Wrinkles & Fine Lines
What can I expect during treatment? |
 |
Your doctor will guide the laser to the treated areas with a small handheld probe. Each laser pulse may be preceded and followed by a short pulse of cooling spray. Depending on the area and condition to be treated, the treatment could take as little as a few minutes to as long as an hour. During the treatment, some patients may feel a slight discomfort, sometimes described as an insect-bite sensation. This discomfort is minimized by the Candela’s patented DCD cooling.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments depends on the treatment you require and the condition of your skin. For hair removal, most people require an average of 4-5 treatments, as the process is only effective when the hair follicle is in its active growth phase. Other skin conditions may require between 3-6 treatments, as many factors impact the efficacy of individual laser treatments, including the severity of the condition being treated.
What can I expect after treatment?
Patients should avoid dun exposure before and after treatment, and are advised to apply sunblock (SPF30 or above) when going outdoors.
